Two Beautiful Brides, Two Beautiful Bouquets

Jenny and Katie were an absolute pleasure to work with. Here are some photos of their May wedding. Their colors were apple green and pink. We did very garden-y mixed bouquets for the ceremony and accented the same flowers and colors at the reception. Photos by Kelly Manno. The bridal bouquets were similar, except for lily of the valley, which was added as a special touch in one of the bouquets. Both bouquets included bells of Ireland, calla lilies, freesia, and …

Re-using Flowers from Ceremony to Reception

Here is a great example of how aisle decorations can be used at both the ceremony and the reception. This particular bride of ours had an outdoor wedding with clusters of her wedding flowers on the chairs at the ceremony. Afterward, her coordinator removed the flowers from the ceremony and placed them on the backs of the head table chairs at the reception. At the ceremony…….. …….and again at the reception. Another option that we give our brides is to …

White Linear Bouquet

This white and ivory bouquet has a unique shape and texture. The large white callas and green bells of Ireland help to give it a very linear shape, as opposed to a more rounded look. White freesia, jade berries, and roses also help to give the bouquet a lot of great texture–one of our favorite things here at Sisters. Take a look! 🙂

Professional Shots by Jon Koch

These brilliant photos are of a wedding that we serviced in April and blogged about earlier. Obviously, Jon’s shots blow ours out of the water. Take a look!!! Small, sweet bridal bouquet in white freesia, roses, and mini callas. The guest tables had these tall calla centerpieces. The head table had this all white flower hedge. Thanks to Koch Photography for these awesome shots! Check out more of Jon’s work on his website: http://www.kochphotography.net/ Our best to the bride and …

White Flower Hedge and Carnation Spheres

This was a very unique wedding reception at Maryland Walk in Clayton. The bride came to us with a vision of a flower hedge for the head table and round carnation spheres for the bar. Here is what we arranged for the event. The ten foot flower hedge lined the table and made a great arrangement for the head table. Gerber daisies, hydrangeas, roses, carnations, and spray roses were all included in this flower piece. The guest tables were accented …

What’s Hot for Moms

Check out the new trend in Mother’s flowers for weddings. Most Moms these days want flowers that will compliment their outfit and designate them as important without getting in the way of their mingling and celebrating. We suggest a small clutch of flowers that can be held while going down the aisle and then can be placed by their seat at the reception. Lots of Moms would prefer to hold flowers rather than wear them on their wrist or pin …

Can the bride’s flowers be different?

Often, we get asked by clients if it is ok for the bride’s bouquet to be different from the bridesmaids. Sometimes they are asking about color, and other times they are referring to the type of flower. In either case, it is perfectly fine, and common, for the bride to be set apart from everyone else in the wedding party. Here is an example from the wedding of Jen and Tanner. (Photos by Nordmann Photography) Jen carried large and mini …

Wedding at Old Cathedral

This was a very romantic wedding this past June at the Old Cathedral. These great photos (by naturalaspects.com) show the inside of the church decorated with white hydrangea and callas. Here are single stems of hydrangea tied onto the pews with satin ribbon. What could be cuter than little girls as both flower girl AND ring bearer!!?? At the back of the altar, two vases of large white calla lilies make a statement. The same type of arrangements used at …

Attention Spring Brides!

This is a beautiful use of spring colors and spring-time flowers, for all of you who may be planning for an upcoming spring wedding. Laurie and Adam got married this past May. Here are some great pictures from Gail Fleming. Laurie’s bouquet included large white callas, pink mini callas, and green hypericum berries. The girls carried large white calla lilies for a very clean, contemporary look. These white hydrangeas were hung on the pews and lined the aisle for the …
