Spring Wedding at Moulin

The spring-like weather has made us reminisce about our favorite spring weddings.  Here is one from last May.  Patti and John enjoyed their wedding and reception at Moulin surrounded by family and friends.  Not only is Patti a former wedding vendor that we have worked closely with, but she is also a friend of the Sisters team.  We were so honored to be a part of their day.  Here are some images by SJ Macky Photography. Shades of purple were …

Monochromatic Yellows

Katherine and Rob’s wedding back in May reminds us that spring and bright, warm weather will be back!  Their monochromatic yellows were soft-textured with some bold pops of color.  Images by Kelly Pratt Photography. Katherine’s bouquet was a mix of deep ivory, butter yellow, and bright yellow.  Many textured blooms and greenery brought lots of interest and softness to her bouquet. The maids carried monochromatic yellow bouquets. Rob’s boutonniere was a white freesia bloom. The other men wore bright yellow …

Vows at Christ Lutheran Church and Reception at Chase Park Plaza

Suzanne and Dave had a June wedding with a lot of personal touches. Here are some photographs courtesy of Megan Thiele Studios. Suzanne wanted brightly colored flowers for herself. We designed this bouquet of jewel-toned blooms that included roses, orchids and hydrangea. These moss-covered initials hung on the doors at the ceremony and were used again at the reception. The bright colors of the ceremony were carried through into the reception in the Zodiac Room. Special thanks to the staff …

Wedding at Little Flower Church and St. Louis Zoo

Elizabeth and Neal had a bright and colorful summer wedding. Elizabeth picked bright colors accented with white for herself. The bridesmaids carried all brightly colored flowers that really stood out against their yellow dresses. These two tall altar arrangements decorated Little Flower Church. The reception flowers were the same bright oranges, yellows, pinks and reds. The St. Louis Zoo was the perfect backdrop for these fun colors! Two different centerpieces were used at the reception. The shorter more compact arrangements …

Ceremony and Reception at Soulard Preservation Hall

Here is a unique way to use flowers for a ceremony and reception all in one location. Our clients for this event double-used ceremony and guest table flowers to decorate their space. The room was used for the ceremony and then turned over for the reception. Cube vases filled with white hydrangea lined the stage for the ceremony. Afterwards, they were used for all the guest table decorations. Julep cups with white hydrangea decorated the chairs at the ceremony and …

Peacock Feathers

For everyone out there considering using peacock feathers, here is an example of how we incorporated them into bouquets and as decorations at the ceremony and reception. Take a look! (Images by Tim McDermott) The feathers were used to tied in shades of blue in the bridesmaids’ bouquets. They carried white calla lilies, ivory roses, accented with the peacock feathers and looped lily grass. The bridal bouquet was a fall mix of mini calla lilies, roses, and looped lily grass. …

Little Flower Church and MoBot

This wedding took place in September with a ceremony at Little Flower Church and a reception at the Botanical Gardens. Here are some photos taken by our very own Sisters, Chelsea. Two large vases of mixed flowers in wedding colors decorated the center aisle at Little Flower. This helped make a distinct center aisle, since this altar is in the center of a circular arrangement of pews. At the reception, tall and short centerpieces were used on the guest tables. …

Ceremony at St. Francis Xavier

These are some good examples of decorations for a ceremony at St. Francis Xavier Church. These colorful sprays were used on both sides of the altar. While we were there setting up, these little darlings showed up for the wedding. Aren’t they cute!!

Using Your Containers for Centerpieces

We often have clients who have containers or vases that they would like to use for their receptions. Here is an example of just that. This bride had her reception at Moulin and gave us her own amber glassware to use for the centerpieces. These are the snapshots that we took of the set-up. We filled the bride’s containers with a lush arrangements of purple hydrangea. We also took shots of the ceremony flowers and bouquets. Pink and purple were …

Continuing the Yellow Theme….

Here is another example of using yellow flowers for a bright, summer-y wedding. These shots were taken by our very own “Sister”, Chelsea, at a wedding just a few weeks ago. The wedding was at Central Reform Congregation and the reception was at Ninth Street Abbey. Take a look!! The bridal bouquet was a bright mix of yellow roses, white freesia, and white waxflower filler. The entry table at the ceremony had this large, showy arrangement in the wedding colors. …
